The second pillar is Context. After defining who speaks (the Role), you explain where and why. As in the course template, context means: describe the work environment or case to be handled, and the goal of the task.

Core principle
The AI does not know your circumstances unless you write them. Context is the frame the task is read within — changing it alone can flip the whole answer.

What strong context includes

  • Environment / case: where are we?
  • Audience: who is the output for?
  • Goal: what do we want to achieve?
Context is not Data
Context describes the environment and goal; the Data pillar (next) is the raw figures and text themselves. Keep them separate.
No context
Write a marketing message for honey.
Clear context
Context: a store selling premium Sidr honey, audience are gift buyers, goal is to persuade them to buy before Eid. Write a fitting message.
Pro tip
Ask: "if I handed this to a new employee, what would they need to know about the situation and goal?" Each answer is context worth adding.

Question 1

What does the Context pillar describe?

💡 Why: Context = environment + goal. Raw data is the Data pillar; the action and shape are Task & Outputs.
Question 2

The phrase "audience is new employees, goal is to simplify" is which pillar?

💡 Why: Describing audience and goal is Context — not raw data or limits.
